"Happy are those who are called to His Supper."

2008 Classes

Registration for the 2008-2009 Religious Education Year has officially begun!

Registration forms may be found on the back table in the Cloister Area for Religious Education, 1st Reconciliation/1st Communion, and Confirmation. Please take the forms and complete them by returning them to the Parish Office.

The week before Catechesis begins, we will have a Beginning of the Year Kick-Off Potluck at the Pueblo Nature Center on Sunday September 7th, 2008 at Noon. Families with the last name A-M are asked to bring a side dish, and families N-Z are asked to bring a dessert. Come and join us for a day of refreshment and re-acquaintance with old friends and meet some new ones as well.

PLEASE RSVP AT THE TABLE PROVIDED IN THE CLOISTER AREA. THIS IS USED
FOR PLANNING FOR TABLES AND THE MAIN MEAT DISH. You will also find fliers on
the back table with directions to the Nature Center.

Please take note! If your child will be receiving any of the Sacraments this year (Baptism, 1st Confession, 1st Holy Communion or Confirmation) you will be required to attend 4 Parent Compulsory Classes. These will take place in the Hospitality Room from 9:00am -11:00am on the following Saturdays: October 18th 2008, November 15th 2008, January 17th 2009, February 21st 2009.

Catechesis for all grade levels will begin on Sunday September 14th. Children who are in grades Pre-K through 6th Grade will meet in the Parish Hall on Sundays from 8:45am to 9:45am (PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE: 6th GRADE IS ALSO IN THE MORNING NOW.) All youth from grades 7th- 12th will meet in the Parish Hall on Sunday evenings from 6:15pm to 7:30pm. There are some changes in regards to the structuring of the youth: Junior High 7th-8th grades will be combined, as well as all of the High School grades 9th-12th. Confirmation will meet separately twice a month and will join with the High School
classes the other two nights.

High School Confirmation will be set up a little differently this year. Students and parents will need to fill out a separate registration form if they want to begin the Confirmation Process their 9th grade year, or continue into their 2nd Confirmation Year. Students will not be required to start their 9th grade year and are able to enter the Confirmation Program
later in High School if so desired. We are giving the youth and parents the option to start either in 9th grade or later as we want to be sure of the students desire, readiness and comprehension to receive this vital Sacrament.

High School is such an important time that we are creating a program
just for them that includes post-Confirmation High School Youth. The Program
will expand as we are able and will depend somewhat upon the participation
level. Some of the components of this ministry will be Catechesis upon
relevant topics, how to apply Church Teachings in their lives, morality, and
the chance for youth to participate in Peer Ministry. Please pray for wisdom
as we seek to create a program with spiritually enriching opportunities for
this important generation.
